What an interesting week this was!

It is always so important and valuable to learn about different cultures from around the world as you never know when you might get to meet someone from a different culture. South Africa is filled to the brim with so many of its own cultures, as well as cultures from all over the world, and we loved hearing about the different cultures of all of our Bugs.

We heard about Portuguese, Irish, Afrikaans, Zulu, Muslim, Welsh and many, many more!

We took a different approach this week with regards to creative learning, and instead of doing art pieces, we decided to do cooking instead. We made traditional Fairy Bread from Australia, tried yummy Melktert from Emily, Biltong from Grayson and “Amagwinya” (which are similar to vetkoek) from Teacher Thandi. The kiddies loved exploring the different tastes.

Of course Friday was a special day, as it was HAT PARADE! We were so impressed and proud of the stunning hats that our Bugs made! Well done everyone! We were also so impressed with how brave and confident our Bugs were, walking around the drive way in front of so many people! Well done Bugs!

We are so glad that our Bugs are all better and back at school! We missed you all so much!

Wishing a wonderful week

Cooking and Food

This week our theme was cooking, and the Bugs had an absolute blast! We spoke about the importance of washing our hands before preparing food and discussed how to stay safe in the kitchen. The Bugs were very excited to share that they often help Mommy and Daddy when cooking at home, and it was wonderful to see how much they already knew about kitchen safety and cleanliness.

Under The Sea

We mainly focused on educational activities such as cutting, drawing, shapes, colours, and counting. The Bugs also worked hard on following instructions and showed great improvement in their concentration and fine motor skills. In between our lessons, we made sure to enjoy some free play, giving the Bugs time to explore, build friendships, and express themselves creatively.
