Who knows what a group of giraffe is called? Let us know on the class WhatsApp group!

We started off the week with a bang and continued assessing our brilliant Curious Crew. They are doing so well and we are very proud of each child for progressing thus far. Keep up the good work boys and girls!

We completed our art work on Thursday after doing a little each day. We painted our chameleons in water colours which turned out beautifully! Whilst some were completing their art pieces, others were completing independent number formation.

On Tuesday the children cut out their cactus ovals and this allowed them to practice their cutting skills. We were so pleased with how the children have grasped the concept of holding the paper with one hand and cutting with the other. On Wednesday, the Crew had some fun in the sun with Teacher Emma. They sprinkled some sand onto their calendar paper to form the base of their desert. So much fun! On Thursday we finally stuck all of the art elements together to form our desert setting. They turned out so beautifully!

We had such fun during our ring time sessions this week. Our Crew know all about African animals so we decided to learn all about other kinds of wild animals from all over the world! First, we learnt all about the wild animals of the Amazon Rain Forest. The Crew were amazed to learn just how big an Anaconda snake gets, yikes! We then learnt all about the wild animals of the Tongass National Forest, home to many bears! We then discovered all about the wild animals of Antarctica followed by the wild animals of the desert – where we find our chameleon, hehe! We showed the Crew where each place can be found on our globe – they found this very fascinating!

We introduced the Crew to the concept of 2D vs 3D shapes. We made a beautiful cube to bring the shape of the week to life. The Crew loved seeing the end product and seemed very chuffed that they had learnt about a new complex shape.

During cooking the Crew had loads of fun making a little Porcupine out of fruit and chocolate chips. They were very excited to eat their master piece for morning snack, hehe! At Fun Fit Sport we had a challenge to see who could hang from the monkey bars for the longest – wow we were really impressed with some of the Crews strength!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! On a side note, could we please ask that you practice the months of the year with your child over the weekend and specifically focus on the month that they were born. Thank you! We would also like to thank you for all of your effort with the letter challenge books, so far, they are looking awesome!

Have a wonderful and warm weekend!

Father’s Day and Sport

What an exciting week we’ve had in the Curious Crew class, especially leading up to the much-anticipated Bike-a-thon! The kids were counting down the days, asking daily if it was finally Bike-o-thon time. Today was no different, “When are we going to ride, teacher?” “Is it now?”—the questions didn’t stop! The big event finally took place after snack time during our break, and it was pure joy.

Land, Air and Sea Transport

During ring time each morning, we encouraged the Crew to include transport in their sentences when discussing different types of vehicles. Our goal was for them to grasp what “transport” really means—not just naming cars, trucks, planes, and boats, but understanding why we use them.

The Farm: Farm Animals

This week, we explored the fascinating world of farm animals! We learned about the animals themselves, the sounds they make, the names of their babies, and even which meats come from which animals. We also discussed the many products animals give us — from milk, cheese, and yogurt to wool, feathers, and eggs.
