This week, we had so much fun learning about Easter! We talked about what happens on Easter and who brings all the yummy Easter eggs. We also looked at pictures of bunnies, talked about their colours, and even learned about what they like to eat. And yes, we sang the bunny song at least a thousand times—so much fun!

In art, we made the cutest little hen inside an egg! We painted the egg, coloured in the hen, and put it all together to make a perfect little masterpiece. We also made adorable Easter cards for all of you!

For some messy fun, we played with flour and hid tiny objects inside. The Pups had a blast digging through the flour to find the hidden treasures!

In FunFit sports, we practiced for our Sports Day after the holidays. The Pups are going to do AMAZING!

For yoga, we did YAY YAY YOGA!

We started with our butterfly adventure warm-up (sitting in butterfly pose 🦋).

Then, we played the “Hot Yoga Mats” game, which is just like “The Floor is Lava!” When they hear “freeze,” the Pups move from the lava mat to the floor and show the yoga pose that’s called out. It’s a fun way to practice listening and following directions!

We finished with a calming yoga song, Breath by Breath, followed by some quiet time.

Just a quick note: we’ll be sending home our Easter art next Friday!

Wishing everyone a super sweet weekend! SeeyouonMonday!

Have a beautiful weekend!

Hh – House

This week was all about “My Home” and we had so much fun exploring the different types of rooms we have in our houses! 😊

In art, we got super creative and made our very own little houses using paper bags! We stuffed them with shredded paper to make them all nice and puffy. Then, we painted the bags, added windows and doors, and turned them into the cutest little homes ever! We can’t wait to show off our lovely creations at the Art Expo—it’s going to be so much fun! 🤩

We also did some super fun free drawing and practiced our tracing skills. We placed the tracing sheets on the wall, and the Pups had to use their fingers to follow the lines—what a great way to get those little fingers moving and learning!

One of our favorite activities this week was using beanbags to practice following instructions! Teacher Monette would give directions, like “place the beanbag on your head” or “put it on your shoulders,” and the Pups did an amazing job! They even had to balance the beanbag on their heads while walking around the classroom—so much balance and focus! 😄

In FunFit sports, the Pups are getting ready for our big Sports Day, which will happen when we return from our holiday. They’ve been practicing so hard, and their energy and teamwork are just amazing! We know they’re going to rock it! 💪

And last but not least, we had a blast in yoga! Instead of doing calm poses, the Pups had way too much energy, so we danced and danced! Everyone had so much fun shaking out all that energy. We’re definitely ready for the weekend after all those dance moves! 🕺💃

It’s been a week full of creativity, energy, and learning—and we’re already looking forward to next week! 😊

Have a beautiful weekend!

This week, we had so much fun learning all about our families and we also spoke about the colour purple!

In art, we got to colour in pictures of our moms, dads, and siblings, and then we carefully stuck them onto a little house. It was so special, and our Pups’ faces lit up every time we said mom or dad’s name. They’re just too cute!

We also had lots of fun with free play this week. We got messy with some free painting on the deck—oh, it was so much fun, and the Pups loved it!

In FunFit Sports, we had a blast doing obstacle courses in class. We practiced jumping, crawling, and climbing, and it really helped us feel more confident and proud of ourselves!

A huge thank you to Teacher Hayley for loving and caring for the Pupsthisweek.

Have a wonderful family-time weekend!

Healthy Eating:

This week, we had a wonderful time exploring all the healthy foods that help us stay strong and energized. We also talked about how important water is for keeping our bodies happy. And the cutest part? All the Pups eagerly ran to take a big gulp of water! It was so heartwarming to see.

Art:

For art, we got super creative! We painted a carrot using an actual carrot – how fun is that? We discussed the different colours we used to bring our carrots to life. Then, we made symmetrical butterflies! The Pups picked their favourite colours, splattered paint on one side of the butterfly, and then pressed it to create the same design on the other side. They were so focused and did such a great job!

This Week’s Theme: Safety:

Our theme this week was all about staying safe! We talked about things like holding mommy or daddy’s hand when we’re out shopping or crossing the street. It’s such an important lesson to remember!

 Art:

We created so many amazing pieces of art, and guess what? One of them will be part of the Art Expo! 🌟 We made “Stop and Go” signs using sponges, and the Pups got to pick their favorite one to make. We also made firemen… but I’ll keep that piece a secret since it’s going to be on display at the expo. Can’t wait!

FunFit Sports:

In FunFit Sports, we explored balancing on the tires in the playground and shouted out the colours we stepped on. It was so much fun, and the Pups looked absolutely adorable while they balanced!

You all did an incredible job this week, and I’m so proud of each and every one of you! Keep up the great work!

Stop, drop and roll into the weekend!

Last week, we explored the theme of health and hygiene 🪥✨

We discussed the importance of washing our hands and practiced proper handwashing techniques throughout the week. The Pups were eager to follow along, and they did such a fantastic job!

For art, we used a tea bag to demonstrate what dirty teeth look like, while painting the other tooth to show how clean teeth should appear. The Pups were absolutely fascinated by using the wet tea bag to paint—it was the cutest thing!

During FunFit Sports, we had an exciting time with a bat and ball. The Pups practiced balancing the ball on a stand before hitting it off. Some of them were having so much fun, they didn’t want to stop! It was also wonderful to see them finally warming up to Coach Trevor—his happiness was truly contagious!

For fine motor activities, the Pups worked on placing small objects onto a standing surface. I was so impressed with their coordination and problem-solving skills—their little hands and minds knew exactly what to do!

Playful Pups Yoga 🐶 was as magical as ever!

  • After our warm-up and welcome, we shook off our sillies with a yoga song called Silly to Calm.
  • Using our Magic Yoga Bag, the Pups picked out animals and mimicked the matching yoga poses.
  • We incorporated breathing techniques into our animal movements, helping them stay focused and engaged.
  • We ended with some much-needed relaxation and quiet time.
Of course, the Lion Pose was the highlight of the day! 🦁

We also had a blast with music activities, where the Pups practiced following instructions—holding instruments above their heads, tapping them on the floor, and playing at different speeds: fast fast fast and sloooow sloooow sloooow! Watching their excitement and focus was absolutely heartwarming.

This week was filled with learning, laughter, and so many proud moments! 💛

Week 2

This Week Was All About LOVE! ❤️

This week, we filled our days with love and warm, snuggly feelings! We talked about the special people in our lives—Mom, Dad, and all our wonderful families. And, of course, we practiced giving our friends sweet little hugs… and oh my goodness, it was the cutest thing ever!

Lovely Little Creations 🎨
For art, we made the most adorable cards for Mom and Dad! Using a heart stencil and red and pink paint, our little artists carefully dipped their tiny hands into the paint, brushed it onto the stencil, and created something truly special. They did such an amazing job!

We also made beautiful flowers for our parents using our hands! It got a little extra messy (painty fingers everywhere!), but the giggles and joy made it totally worth it!

Songs Full of Love 🎶
We sang “I Love You, You Love Me,” and as soon as we started, our Pups’ faces lit up with the biggest smiles! It was such a heartwarming moment!

FunFit Fun with Coach Trevor! 🏃‍♂️
FunFit Sports keeps getting more exciting! This week, we focused on building our strength and confidence by climbing up and down the jungle gym and zooming down the slides. Some of our brave little Pups even wanted to try the monkey bars! Watching them step out of their comfort zones and explore new things made my heart so proud!

Yay for Yoga! 🧘‍♀️
Today was all about hip mobility—helping our little bodies get more flexible, strong, and steady! Our morning songs were:
🌈 You Can’t Do Nothing Sitting on the Floor
🌈 Breath by Breath
And, of course, we ended with a peaceful and cozy quiet time.

I am so, so proud of each and every Pup! Watching them grow, learn, and shine makes my heart so full! 💕

Have a wonderful weekend!

This week was all about exploring our senses, and oh my goodness, the pups had so much fun! 🐾

Art Time:

We made the cutest rattles using little plastic bottles. The Pups got to fill them with all sorts of fun objects, and it was so sweet seeing their excitement as they shook and explored the sounds! Then came the messy play — a big hit! The Pups had to dig around to find objects using their hands and tweezers, and once they finished, they rubbed the different textures all over their hands. They were absolutely adorable and couldn’t stop giggling! 🤭 Finally, we did a smelly adventure with spices, and the pups loved sniffing all the different scents. It was such a sensory delight!

Yoga Time:

Yoga day was a huge success! 🎉 We started with some warm-up stretches, then sang along to our favorite yoga song, “Clap it Right!” The pups stretched left and right to build those strong little muscles! After that, we enjoyed a peaceful quiet time listening to the sounds of dolphins and bubbles popping—such a calming moment for everyone. And, of course, we practiced some deep breathing to help them relax and focus. 🧘

FunFit Sports:

Coach Trevor joined us for some FunFit sports, and although it was our first time, the Pups worked on their balance and coordination. Not all of them were totally sure at first, but I know they’ll get more comfortable with each session. I’m so proud of their effort and I can’t wait to see them shine next week!

Overall, it’s been an amazing week in the Playful Pups Classroom, and I’m beyond proud of how well all our little Pups are adjusting! 🐶 They’re doing such a great job exploring, learning, and having fun every single day. 💖

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already the second week of school! Time is flying by!

This week, we had so much fun with our “My Body” theme. We explored all the different body parts, and the Pups were awesome at pointing them out—everyone was so engaged! We also sang “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” (I’m sure you know that one too!). It was such a blast watching the little bodies move and groove!

For Art, we had a super fun time with mirrors! Teacher Monette asked the pups, “Where are your eyes?” and the Pups would look in the mirror and point at them. It was such a cute moment! Then, we got creative by making faces using pictures of the different parts we get on our faces. The children loved it, and the results were adorable!

This week was also all about building friendships and having fun with free play time. The Pups enjoyed exploring, laughing, and playing together as a class!

And, of course, we had our very first yoga class—YAY-YAY YOGA! The pups did an amazing job warming up with stretches, saying “Good Morning” to our bodies from head to toe. We danced along to a colourful song and did some simple yoga poses, including the Sun Salutation (hello, dog, frog, and snake!). We ended with our quiet time and the best 5 star breath ever!

I’m so proud of all my Playful Pups. They have been lottle stars!

Weekly Update: Travel Adventures with the Playful Pups

This week, we embarked on an exciting travel-themed journey, exploring different holiday destinations and dreaming about where we’d like to travel one day. We discussed the various ways we can get there—by car, train, or airplane—and shared stories of places we’d love to visit.

Creative Arts

For art, the Pups had the opportunity to express their travel preferences by painting the outline of their chosen mode of transport—a train or an airplane. They added their own imaginative touches to the artwork and then had fun mimicking the sounds and movements of the vehicles. Their enthusiasm was contagious as they chugged like trains and soared like airplanes!

Water Play

Midweek, we had a refreshing water play session where the Pups helped Teacher Monette clean all the classroom blocks using soap, water, and cloths. It was a delightful activity that combined teamwork with sensory play, and the Pups had as much fun as Teacher Monette did—lots of giggles all around!

Guessing Game: Animals Edition

We also enjoyed a lively guessing game. The Pups took turns pulling animals out of a box, identifying their colors, and making their corresponding sounds. Their ability to recall and imitate the animals was fantastic, and their enthusiasm made it a highlight of the week!

Yoga Yayness

Our yoga sessions focused on listening skills as we explored the sounds of 20 different animals. Each sound was matched with a corresponding pose, and while some sounds were a bit tricky, our little yogis rose to the challenge. Here’s a list of the poses we practiced:
🐵🐶🐱🦁🐯🐴🫏🐮🐷🐑🐪🐘🐁🐻🦃🐔🦅🦆🦉🐸🐬.

The Pups impressed me with their focus and effort—well done, little yogis!

Little Kickers Fun

This week in Little Kickers, we worked on hitting and catching skills using pool noodles and colorful balls. The Pups thoroughly enjoyed the activity, showing off their coordination and cheering each other on. It was a wonderful way to strengthen gross motor skills while having a blast!

Reminder

Please remember to bring your decorated Christmas boxes by next Wednesday. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative designs!

I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable weekend. Thank you for making this week so much fun! 🌟

Qq – Queue

This week was all about *shopping*, and it’s safe to say the Pups were absolutely thrilled! We kicked off by chatting about different types of things we find in shops—from groceries to toys to clothes—and the Pups eagerly shared whether they enjoy going shopping or not. They were all bursting with excitement, and it was clear that many of them were little shopping pros already!

For our art activity, we worked on listening and following instructions. Each Pup received a picture filled with all sorts of toys, and we named specific ones for them to colour in. The goal was to focus on listening carefully and choosing the correct items—and they did a fantastic job! The concentration and pride in their faces as they found each item and coloured it in were so special.

Then came the highlight of the week: our own little “shopping spree.” We set up a pretend store, and the Pups each had a mini trolley to push around, filling it with various items just like they would in a real shop. Watching them toddle around with their tiny trolleys, carefully choosing their “purchases,” was simply adorable. They even had their pretend cards ready, and some of them knew exactly how to tap their cards  at the “checkout” with so much confidence—it was too cute for words!

In addition to our shopping fun, we spent some time exploring the outdoors and had a little adventure searching for the baby bunnies under the Eco Babes house. The Pups understood that they needed to be quiet and gentle for the bunnies to feel comfortable coming out, and their anticipation was priceless. As soon as the bunnies peeked out from under the house, their eyes widened with joy, and the entire group lit up with excitement.

To end the week with even more fun, we had a bubble play session, which is always a crowd favourite. The Pups absolutely love chasing the bubbles, and it was delightful to see how they instinctively knew to “pop, pop, pop” them with their little fingers—and sometimes even their tongues, he he! Their giggles and happy squeals filled the air as they danced around, reaching for every bubble in sight.

I’m so proud of each and every one of them; it’s incredible to see how they’re growing in confidence, learning to listen, and showing such joy in every activity. This week was full of magical little moments, and I couldn’t be happier to watch these little ones explore, learn, and play with such enthusiasm!

Have a wonderful weekend!

This week, our theme was all about cooking, and the Pups absolutely loved it! We chatted about their favourite foods, and in an adorable twist, every single one of them picked pizza as their number one!  We also had some thoughtful conversations about keeping our hands nice and clean before cooking and being super careful around sharp or hot things in the kitchen.

When it came time to cook, they really surprised me with their independence! Each Pup spread their own tomato paste, sprinkled cheese with enthusiasm, and even carefully cut up their little Viennas. They were so focused and determined—it was heartwarming to watch.

For our fine motor fun, the Pups practiced with tiny beads, carefully adding them onto little sticks and using a tiny scoop to collect them into bowls. The concentration on their faces was just precious! Their hard work and focus truly amazed me!

We also enjoyed some music this week where the Pups had to copy the movement I did. We also focused on our spatial concepts while doing music. They loved it!

We’ve also been busy full speed with reports coming soon, and the Pups are doing great with their assessments!

I’m so proud of all of you!

These past two weeks have been splash-tastic under the sea! The Pups surprised me with all they knew about sea animals—big and small, and so many colors! We had so much fun making art too, dipping corks in paint to create a spotty little starfish and fishy friends. The corks made the cutest little dots!

Of course, we had to sing our favorites, Baby Shark and the Jellyfish Song!  For Yoga, we practiced matching poses to picture cards of animals and different transport symbols—think lions, elephants, and even trains! Our morning tunes included Silly to Calm and Fly Like a Butterfly, which helped us start the day with big smiles.

Our group project was a hit! We painted together on a giant paper spread on the floor using paint rollers, and the Pups had the best time making big, colorful strokes.

We’ve been busy with assessments too, getting ready for report time, and I’m thrilled with everyone’s progress! Plus, potty training is coming along beautifully, and saying goodbye to bottles has been much easier than expected. I couldn’t be prouder of each and every Pup!

Wishing everyone a joyful weekend, and see you all on Monday!

Mm – Mystical

This week was truly magical as we dove into our fantasy theme! The Pups’ imaginations soared, and it was a joy to witness how creatively they embraced the activities. We focused primarily on finishing up our Art Expo projects, and I can confidently say that we are beyond excited to showcase all the incredible artwork we’ve been working on throughout the year. The countdown to the big day has officially begun, and the excitement is building!

Our fantasy play was a highlight, where I handed out various props and let the Pups’ imaginations run wild. It was heartwarming to see each of them step into their own little worlds, fully embodying different characters. Their enthusiasm and creativity were contagious, and I couldn’t help but smile watching them explore their roles so confidently.

For art, we created an adorable dragon using paper plates, painting it orange. This piece, along with another project for the Art Expo, truly showcased the Pups’ creativity and dedication. They have worked so hard, and I am incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished!

In FunFit sports, we focused on gross motor skills, climbing the big jungle gym outside. The Pups showed great strength and coordination! Thursday’s Yoga session also helped us stretch and relax after such an active week.

I’m sending lots of well wishes to the Pups who are feeling under the weather—hope you all get better soon and can join us for the final push to the Art Expo!
