Ii – Insects

What another lovely week for me spent with the Pups! I must say these little people have really crept into my heart. I don’t know how I’m going to let them go next year when they spread their wings and move to the Busy Bugs class. They are all so unique and special in their own way!

We learnt about insects this week. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…. What an awesome sound to hear! And what a fun theme to learn about! We spent this week learning about all the insects that hide away in our gardens.

Butterflies, Bees, Grasshoppers, Caterpillars, Ants, Snails and Praying Mantis’s. We looked at pictures of them, learnt what noises they make and how they get from here to there.

Of course one of our favorite bugs to learn about was the Bee. We loved learning about the noise bees make and most importantly, that bees make delicious yummy honey!

We hope you have a lovely weekend, see you on Monday!

Next week’s theme:

Frogs and Ponds

WE WANNA KNOW ...

What is your favourite insect?

So, we focused on things they can see and understand, like stars, rockets, the moon, and astronauts. We talked about the planets and the solar system, and we feel that they really grasped the concepts we were introducing!

Reptiles

A highlight of the week was the reptile show on Wednesday. The Pups couldn’t believe what they saw! Some of them were very brave and touched the reptiles being shown, while others kept their distance but were still very curious. Seeing their big eyes light up as the snakes and spiders came close was definitely something special.
