Moral conscious theme: Reflective – We have been going through the IB principles of a learner and this week we focused on what it means to be reflective. We taught the Squad that when we look back on what we have done – that means we have reflected on it. We then said that sometimes we could have done things differently and better and that is when we are able to see that we can always grow and be better at handling things.
Writing and Phonics: This week was a short week, but we were able to introduce two new sight words “has” and “not”. We also completed a worksheet on our new word family “ap”. The students had to match the word to the picture and draw in their sight words.
Mathematics: Mathematics this week focused on us counting objects, ordering them, and counting backwards from 30. This is a tricky concept, but it is essential for the Squad to know.
Creative Art: The Squad made their daddies a very special Father’s Day bottle and letter with bottle opener. They really enjoyed doing this – we first decorated the bottles by painting them and then we made our very own labels. Well Done.
Music and Cooking: On Tuesday for Music, Teacher Katy came and sang concert songs with the Squad, we are in full swing with concert. For cooking this week, we baked chocolate muffins, decorated with green icing sugar and crumbled Oreos’ on top for the ‘sand’. We then pierced a pretzel stick to form the pole and added a flag and marshmallow ‘ball’. The Squad made their daddies a golf muffin.
FunFit Sports: This week we focused on completing our gross motor assessments. The children did wonderfully.
The Bike-a- Thon run beautifully and the children had a lovely time – well done to everyone who participated.
