Moral conscious theme: IB Principle- Risk Takers-  We explained to the Squad that being a risk taker means trying new things or doing something even if you’re not sure how it will turn out. We explained this in a simple relatable way such as when you try riding a bike without training wheels for the first time, or when you stand up in front of class to talk about something you care about. It’s about being brave and not being afraid to learn from mistakes or explore new ideas.

Writing and Phonics: Last week, the Squad practiced tracing and independently writing the letters “n”, “o”, and “p”. This week they crafted their own “look glasses” and applied their skills to read a paragraph, identifying and circling sight words. To reinforce their learning, they then wrote each word on their own, solidifying their recognition and writing abilities. Way to go Squad!

Mathematics:  We’re thrilled to see the squad’s math’s skills taking off! Last week they completed a worksheet on tracing and writing the numbers 1-10. This week they took it to the next level and completed a “measuring and recording” worksheet. By using blocks to measure lengths and recording their answers, they demonstrated a solid grasp of this new concept. We’re incredibly proud of their progress – keep shining, Squad!

Creative Art: Last week, as part of their healthy eating theme, they designed a massive food pyramid, carefully cutting and categorizing different food groups. We’re eagerly awaiting the Art Expo, where you’ll get to see their masterpiece! This week, shifting focus to Safety, the Squad crafted adorable firetrucks and illustrated themselves bravely extinguishing fires – they were so chuffed with their creations!

Stop, drop and roll into the weekend!

IB Principle: Risk – Takers – This week the Squad learnt all about taking risks and what sets apart the risks from being smart or not. Sometimes in life we feel that we are making the wrong choices, but it is out of fear, and they turn out to be great opportunities. Life is about taking risking and putting ourselves out there.

Personal Space – We explained to the Squad that personal space is the area around your body and that we need to respect our friends’ bubbles. We must not pop other people’s bubbles because it could make them feel uncomfortable and we must politely let others know when you are not comfortable with how close they are.
