LETTER

Ll – Letter

Welcome back! We hope the Squad have rested well over this mid-term and we can’t wait for another term of lots of learning and fun!

Moral conscious theme: Words can hurt- Speak nicely.

We explained to the Squad that words hurt more than what they think, they need to think about what they say to friends before saying it as well as think about how they would feel if someone said those words to them. We need to show kindness and care towards our friends and be considerate of their feelings.

Writing and Phonics: This week Squad worked hard on remembering our sight words and received two new sight words for this week “an”, and “we”. The Squad then a dd a worksheet on the “at” family, they had to match the correct words with the pictures followed by tracing each word and writing it independently.

Mathematics: The Squad completed a fun counting worksheet. They counted the amount of beans and then cut out the numbers and stuck them under the correct amount of beans, we are very proud of how they grasped this concept well needing very little assistance!

Creative Art: The Squad decorated their very own snakes using paint by making patterns and then added glitter, they thoroughly enjoyed this art activity.

Music: We have been working very hard on learning and practicing for our concert coming up, the Squad is so excited and can’t wait to show their family an awesome performance!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND ...

See you all on Monday!

Shops and Shopping

Our Shops and Shopping theme is always a hit! We taught the kids practical skills that blend learning with fun. We covered money basics (identifying coins, understanding “buying” and “change”), practiced social interactions (role-playing shopkeepers/customers), and linked maths to life (counting, sorting items). We encouraged creativity (designing their own “shop”), all while connecting school to the real world. The kiddies had an absolute blast choosing their items and filling their trolleys, it was too cute!

Cooking and Food

The Squad had a blast with the theme cooking and food! They learned about various cooking methods and the importance of proper food handling, especially for foods like pork and chicken, to avoid foodborne illnesses. They made their own pizzas, where they added their own tomato paste, ham, and cheese, and then took this delicious treat home to eat. Well done, Squad!
