IB Principle: Communicators – We explained to the Squad the importance of communicating and expressing how they feel by using their words and that they must try their best to listen actively to others. We also explained that they need to make sure they are using the correct tone of voice and think about what they want to say to others before saying it as their words can sometimes hurt others.  

Writing and Phonics: This week the Squad wrote their next 9 sight words using the cat method. We are so pleased with how well they are progressing with their handwriting and how they are using the correct pencil grip and pencil control. We also practiced our Time2Read programme where the children have been decoding words using the sound buttons.  

Mathematics: This week we focused on the concept “before and after up to 10 and ordering numbers up to 10. The Squad did a worksheet where they had to put the numbers in the correct order by seeing which numbers come before and after. 

Creative Art: For art this week the children made their own “pumpkin men” they added “clothing” and drew their faces on the pumpkins as well as added arms and legs. They enjoyed this art activity and were impressed with their creations.
