To all of the awesome Dads out there, and to the Moms who are doing both, Happy Father’s Day!

We love all of our EcoDads so much, and this is why we love this theme. There are so many aspects to being a Dad, and our Bugs are so lucky to have all of you special Dads in their lives.

We spent lots of time this week asking our Bugs questions about their Dads; What their names are, if they know how old their Dads are, what work Dad does, whether he plays any sports… And we while didn’t always get answers to all of these questions, one thing we can say for certain, is that very clear that our Bugs just LOVE their Dads!

For Father’s Day art this week we made the cutest “to the braai master” cards, by using black paper for the braai, and hand prints for the fire.

Our Bugs also made you a delicious braai spice as a gift, by mixing lots of different, yummy spices together, to create the yummiest braai spice you will ever taste!

Bike-a-thon was a huge hit on Friday. These kiddos had so much fun zooming around the drive way on their bikes. They were so chuffed with their certificates that they received!

We hope you all have a wonderful long weekend, stay warm and we will see you next week, healthy and ready for fun!

Have a wonderful day on Sunday Eco Dads!

IB Principle: Communicators – As part of the IB Principle of being effective Communicators, we discussed with the Squad the value of expressing their feelings and thoughts using words. We emphasized the importance of active listening, using the right tone of voice, and thinking before speaking to ensure their words are kind and respectful to others.

Writing and Phonics: This week the Squad focused on the “an” family and wrote sentences in their workbooks using the cat method. We are so pleased with how well they are progressing with their handwriting, focusing on finger spacing and placing the letters in the correct part of the “cat”. They also decoded words using sound buttons in their TimetoRead books. Great work Squad!

Mathematics: This week we focused on arranging numbers from “least to greatest”. They used their number lines and wrote their answers in the correct blocks. We are proud of their understanding on this concept. We also practiced counting to 30 and backwards, as well as in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Keep it up Squad!

Creative Art: For art this week the Squad enjoyed making their art for Father’s Day, they couldn’t wait to take it home for dad to see their awesome creations!

Music: We are in full swing of practicing for our annual concert – the children are singing their hearts out. Keep it up.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Have a wonderful day on Sunday Eco Dads!

What an exciting week we’ve had in the Curious Crew class, especially leading up to the much-anticipated Bike-a-thon! The kids were counting down the days, asking daily if it was finally Bike-o-thon time. Today was no different, “When are we going to ride, teacher?” “Is it now?”—the questions didn’t stop! The big event finally took place after snack time during our break, and it was pure joy.

The Crew have learnt all the moves to Catch a Falling Star, and I often catch them humming or singing it during activities. We’ve now started learning the actions for our next concert song, so expect to see a lot of new dance moves and enthusiastic performances coming your way. We hope you enjoy every moment of the cuteness just as much as we do!

At FunFit Sports this week, Coach Trevor and Coach Amber focused on finalising assessments. The children loved having some one-on-one time with the coaches. Their progress in gross motor skills has been incredible to witness—it’s clear how much they’ve developed since the beginning of the year.

In cooking, we made Coco Pop treats for Dad to celebrate Father’s Day this Sunday. They all promised to share with Dad… but we can’t guarantee they’ll stick to it! 😄 We hope you love your gifts Dads!

Our beautiful Curious Crew also enjoyed Yoga on Monday this week! We went on a “rollercoaster ride” 🎢 while seated with legs stretched wide, reaching up, forward, left, and right. The class was filled with laughter and bright smiles. Our yoga song was We’re on a Roller-Coaster by Yogapalooza, and we ended off the session with some peaceful quiet time.

Dads, your Father’s Day cards are absolutely adorable! They truly are keepsakes. And of course, we had to include a little questionnaire for Dad. We hope the answers make you laugh, smile, and maybe even tear up. It’s always heartwarming to see how our children view the world—and you—through their eyes.

The Crew also had fun colouring their Bike-o-thon certificates this week. Each design was so unique and creative—it’s always such a treat to see how differently each child approaches the same task.

For art, we made pocket watches, which will be kept for our annual art expo. They turned out beautifully! We also spent some time working on our number formation using the whiteboard, with great focus and effort from everyone.

For some fine motor practice this week we did number writing on white boards. The Crew really love this activity as they go crazy for anything we do on a white board.

This week, letters g, h, i, and j will be sent home in the Letter Challenge books. The Crew has taken so well to their first taste of “homework”, and we couldn’t be prouder of their enthusiasm and progress. Keep up the great work!

Happy Father’s Day to all our amazing Dads! We hope your day is filled with love, laughter, and a few surprises. You deserve it!

Another week that has just flown by so quickly. The old saying is true “time flies when you having fun”

We had so much fun discussing how special our dads are and what role they play in our families. We also discussed that some families don’t have daddies and that is fine cause moms are also there to love and help us. We love all our families big and small. We spoke about sports that some daddies like to watch or take part in like soccer, rugby, swimming, gym etc. it was great to hear these little Hoppers tell us how they feel about their dads.

We made a lovely Father’s Day card  and we also made a special biscuits for our dads. We hope you have a stunning Father’s day.

Our beautiful Happy Hoppers enjoyed Yoga on a Monday!!

We went on a “Rollercoaster ride” 🎢 sitting with our legs spread wide and stretching up, forward, left and right. There were lots of smiles, giggles and happy faces 😊

We had our Bike-A-Thon today which was so much fun.

Our yoga dong was “We’re on a roller-coaster” by Yogapalooza.

Finishing off with quiet time

For FunFit sports we are busy with Assessments and our Hoppers are working so hard. Great Job.

Our concert practise is way under way, and we are looking forward to the big day all about Our Space journey.

We had lovely discussions about all the wonderful things our daddies do for us and the ways they help us every day.

For art, the Pups created a special photo frame for their dads, along with a fun little tie decorated using various materials. This activity also gave the children a great opportunity to explore textures and develop their sensory skills — and they all did such a fantastic job!

We also began working on our report envelopes, which will be going home soon.

In FunFit Sports, the focus was on assessments to track how much the Pups have progressed since the beginning of the year. We’re so proud to say that everyone did amazingly well!

For Yoga this week, our beautiful Playful Pups enjoyed a session on Tuesday. We went on an imaginative “rollercoaster ride,” sitting with our legs stretched out and moving our bodies up, forward, left, and right. There were plenty of smiles, giggles, and joyful faces all around!

We did this while listening to “We’re on a Rollercoaster” by Yogapalooza, and we ended the session with some peaceful quiet time to relax and unwind.

IB Principle:  Creative Thinkers – this week we spoke about we can extend our knowledge by pushing the boundaries and asking those difficult questions.

Writing and Phonics: This week we focused on our “am” family. We wrote these words out using the cat method and the Squad are improving with their abilities to correctly place their letters on the lines and using finger spacing. Well done!

Mathematics: We coloured in the amount of objects that corresponded with the number. We also recapped counting to 20 and counting backwards. This was our last week of assessments and are pleased with their progress.

Creative Art: This week we focused on creating wonderful art pieces for Father’s Day. The children decorated their own ties using recycled bits from our Art Studio and they moulded salt dough to create a key holder. We hope you love it just as much as we do.

FunFit Sports: Coach Trevor completed gross motor assessments with the Squad this week.

Cooking: Teacher Hayley made cupcakes with the Squad that were decorated with a golf theme. Using oreo’s for sand, icing sugar for the grass and pretzels for the golf pole. Delicious!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

What an exciting week we have had in the Curious Crew class! Especially leading up to our anticipated Bike-o-thon! The kids counted down the days and kept asking us if it was Bike-o-thon yet. Today it was nonstop questions ‘When are we going to ride teacher’ ‘Are we going to go ride now teacher’ Bike-o-thon took place after snack during our break time.

Activities for the week were as follows: During Music and Movement with Teacher Mo he helped write/play the notes for one of our concert songs that we were practicing and now we as well as learnt the next verse that goes with the song. It was lots of fun.

At FunFit Sports this week, Coach Trevor set out a ball skill activity, which the Crew enjoyed so much that they asked to do it again next week and next week the whole class would like to do the activity together instead of the normal splitting into 2 groups. The Crew had 3 different coloured holes they had to throw balls into. If they threw the same coloured ball in the hole it was 10 point, and a different coloured ball into the hole, they got 2 points. Two Crew members were up against each other at a time. Which they really enjoyed!

Cooking this week, the Crew decorated cupcakes for Dad because it’s Father’s Day on Sunday. They promised to share Dads LOL!

At Yoga this week the Crew got to enjoy The Dancing Bear to warm up their bodies on this very cold winter morning. Their stretches were tree, boat and chair pose. Working on hand-eye coordination, they played a game called Topple, which had the kids practicing their pincer grip by placing little counters on top of each other. The Yogies did very well, our kids are all amazing little individuals.

Our/Your Father’s Day cards are to die for! They are just the cutest! Thank you Teacher Tegan for your creative idea, it so cute. And of course he had to do a questionnaire for Dad, I hope the answers make you laugh and go aaahh at the same time! Our Father’s Day gifts will melt your heart too.

One of the extra activities we did for the week was a body image and us teachers were all blown away at the amazing body images these littles ones are now able to draw! Wow, I’m loving all the progress our Crew are making and how mature they have all become.

Happy Father’s Day to all of our Dad’s we hope it’s a wonderful day and you feel quite spoilt!

We made a lovely Father’s Day card that said “scored the best dad with a soccer ball on the front with each Hoppers special footprint on the ball. This looks so awesome. We hope you love your special card. We also made some popcorn with broken Oreo’s with melted whit chocolate over them. On the packet it said pass the snacks to match our card we made.

Yoga this week with teacher Nicole we the dancing bear warm up song. Our stretches were tree, boat, and chair poses. Working on our hand-eye co-ordination. we played a game called Topple, which had the kids practising their pincer grip by placing little counters on top of each other. The Hoppers did super well.

We had a lovely gross motor workout where the Hoppers had to catch a tennis ball in a cone then walk over small blocks not to touch the grass {lava} then over a balancing board and then the last stage climb into a sack and jump to the edge of the grass in the quad and back. Kids just love being so busy.

Our concert practise is way under way, and we are looking forward to the big day.

Have a wonderful weekend.

This week has been so exciting as we celebrated Father’s Day and explored different sports! The Pups were so knowledgeable about sports, and we even got to practice some of them. It was heartwarming to see how much they knew! We also had a wonderful time talking about our dads and how amazing they are. Their faces lit up with joy as they shared stories about their awesome daddies. Well done, Pups!

Our activities were so much fun! We drew with chalk on the floor, and I must say, the Pups were absolutely adorable and enjoyed every moment of it. We also had a blast with some gross motor activities, like balancing and throwing balls to our friends.

For art this week, we made special cards for our dads and worked with some tools to create our masterpieces. Those tiny little hands did an amazing job!

We also had some dough activities, which are always a hit with these little ones. It was such a joy to see them so engaged and happy. Great job, Pups!

Cooking this week:

We made dad a little medal using smarties, icing sugar and strips, obviously the Pups ate some of the ingredients while making the surprise for Dad He-he!

Playful Pups Yoga:

The Dancing Bear was our warm up yoga song. Our stretches were tree, boat and chair poses.

We then practised a few other poses as well whilst counting to 10.

My yogis did very well. Playful Pups you areallamazing !

Moral conscious theme: Reflective – We have been going through the IB principles of a learner and this week we focused on what it means to be reflective. We taught the Squad that when we look back on what we have done – that means we have reflected on it. We then said that sometimes we could have done things differently and better and that is when we are able to see that we can always grow and be better at handling things.

Writing and Phonics: This week was a short week, but we were able to introduce two new sight words “has” and “not”. We also completed a worksheet on our new word family “ap”. The students had to match the word to the picture and draw in their sight words.

Mathematics: Mathematics this week focused on us counting objects, ordering them, and counting backwards from 30. This is a tricky concept, but it is essential for the Squad to know.

Creative Art: The Squad made their daddies a very special Father’s Day bottle and letter with bottle opener. They really enjoyed doing this – we first decorated the bottles by painting them and then we made our very own labels. Well Done.

Music and Cooking: On Tuesday for Music, Teacher Katy came and sang concert songs with the Squad, we are in full swing with concert. For cooking this week, we baked chocolate muffins, decorated with green icing sugar and crumbled Oreos’ on top for the ‘sand’. We then pierced a pretzel stick to form the pole and added a flag and marshmallow ‘ball’. The Squad made their daddies a golf muffin.

FunFit Sports: This week we focused on completing our gross motor assessments. The children did wonderfully.

The Bike-a- Thon run beautifully and the children had a lovely time – well done to everyone who participated.

This week , we really enjoyed and engaged well with our themes . We spoke about the different kind of sports we get and what equipment needs to be used in the sports , we then also spoke about what our favourite sports were and why.

We also focused a great amount on Father’s Day this week , we spoke about our dads and what make them super special.

We also focused on our phonic letters , and everyone had us super impressed with how well they are doing in remembering their letters ! Way to go Curious Crew !

We counted to our number of the week and stopped at 19 , we also focused on those numbers and being able to recognise them when being asked.

For art this week , we focused on our very very special Father’s Day art , the kiddos did their best and the results we got from the final product was just amazing !!!

We really hope all the daddies love their special gifts. The kids put in so much love and effort.
