After the excitement and success of our “One Strange Rock” concert last Saturday, our Playful Pups have certainly been keeping the music alive! One of the absolute highlights this week has been hearing little voices enthusiastically breaking into renditions of “Singing Aye aye, Yippee yippee Aye!” at the most unexpected moments. It has become a firm favourite and has brought plenty of smiles to our faces. There really is nothing sweeter than hearing toddlers proudly singing songs they’ve learnt. 

We continued our exciting Dinosaur theme this week, and as always, it proved to be a roaring success! Dinosaurs never fail to capture the imagination of our curious little learners. Together we explored the concepts of big and small, discovered that dinosaurs could make incredibly loud noises (our classroom has certainly had no shortage of enthusiastic roaring this week!), and learnt that some dinosaurs were plant eaters while others were meat eaters, which led to lots of discussion about those enormous, sharp teeth. 

Our Pups fully embraced the theme by stomping around the classroom pretending to be giant dinosaurs, roaring as loudly as they possibly could. We were also rather impressed that a few of our little dinosaur experts could already tell the difference between a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Triceratops—quite a mouthful for our little ones! We chatted about the Stegosaurus with its spiky plates along its back, the T-Rex with its tiny little arms, and the Triceratops with its three impressive horns. They thoroughly enjoyed exploring all our dinosaur toys and creating their own prehistoric adventures through imaginative play. 

Monday morning wouldn’t be complete without our weekly yoga session, where our Pups stretched, balanced and enjoyed some calming movement before another busy week of learning. Coach Trevor also joined us for another energetic FunFit session, bringing along bats and balls that had everyone eager to join in. These activities are wonderful for developing hand-eye coordination, gross motor skills, balance and spatial awareness, all while having enormous amounts of fun. 

Our creative activity this week also gave those little fingers a fantastic workout. The children carefully peeled tiny dinosaur stickers from their backing sheets, before creating their very own dinosaur collages. Peeling the stickers required plenty of concentration and fine motor control, and every single Pup was incredibly proud of their finished masterpiece. 

What a wonderfully noisy, stompy, smile-filled week it has been! We have loved watching our Playful Pups learn through movement, music, imagination and play. Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and we look forward to another exciting week of adventures together!
