This week our theme was Transport, and what a fun, busy, and exciting week we had in the Busy Bugs class! Even though many of our Bugs friends were unfortunately sick during the week, we did our very best to stay positive, adapt our plans, and make the most out of every moment we had together.
During our group discussions, we explored the different types of transport we see and use in our everyday lives. The Bugs were introduced to cars, buses, aeroplanes, trains, and boats, and we had lots of fun talking about where we might see them and how they help us get from one place to another. We also discussed the importance of road safety, especially when travelling in a car. The Bugs were encouraged to understand simple safety rules such as wearing a seatbelt and sitting safely while the car is moving.
For our creative art activities, the Bugs made adorable little boats, which they will be able to use for future water play experiences. This activity allowed them to explore creativity while also building excitement for sensory and water-based play.
We also enjoyed a variety of hands-on, practical learning experiences throughout the week. One of the highlights was transforming our classroom chairs into a big bus! Each Bug was given a plate to use as a steering wheel, and they absolutely loved pretending to drive. We followed instructions together, took turns, and worked as a team to create a fun and imaginative bus journey experience. It was wonderful to see the Bugs engaging so enthusiastically and using their imagination during this activity.
In addition to this, we continued working on our art expo projects, giving the Bugs the opportunity to explore different materials, develop their creativity, and proudly contribute to our class display.
To end off our week, we introduced a car ramp activity where the Bugs were able to explore freely and enjoy watching their cars zoom down the ramp. This activity encouraged curiosity, cause-and-effect understanding, and lots of excitement as they experimented with speed and movement.
Overall, it was a wonderful transport-themed week filled with learning, creativity, teamwork, and lots of fun!
For Yoga this week:
YAY FOR YOGA
Today we did tissue blowing which encourages deep breathing exercises.
This teaches the yogis breath control. Catching the tissue in the air develops hand eye co ordination . Lots of giggles and laughter
