Zz – Zebra

This week our theme was Wild Animals, and oh boy, what a hit it was! We have never seen the Bugs so excited for ring time like they were this week. During our discussions, we spoke about different wild animals, the sounds they make, what they eat, and where they live. The Bugs could confidently answer all the questions, and it was wonderful to see how engaged and excited they were.

For art this week, the Bugs worked on a very special Art Expo piece. We won’t give away too many details just yet, but we can proudly say that the Bugs completed every single detail of this beautiful zebra-inspired artwork all by themselves. We are beyond proud of their hard work and creativity!

For our numeracy activity, the Bugs used cubes to count the number of circles on their page. They concentrated so well and enjoyed this hands-on counting activity.

The Bugs also had lots of fun during a gross motor activity where they had to throw beanbags into a hula hoop while identifying the colour of their beanbag. This activity helped them work on their throwing skills, hand-eye coordination, and colour recognition.

We also played lots of fun games throughout the week. One of the Bugs’ favourite activities was choosing their favourite wild animal and acting it out for their friends. We also played an exciting guessing game where the Bugs listened to different animal sounds and had to guess which animal it was. The songs

about lions and tigers were definitely a huge hit this week, and the Bugs loved singing along!

For yoga this week:

Yoga day!!!

We worked on picture and pose association once again.

There were a variety of pictures with animals and transport

Some pictures have numbers 1-5, we did various breathwork according to the number.

We matched our poses according to the pictures

Winter, Temperature, Fire and Ice

Art, we had a wonderful messy play activity where the Bugs painted a fire underneath a ziplock bag, using their tiny fingers to blend the colours together. We then went on a nature walk to collect pieces of bark, which we glued onto our artwork to make our fires look warm and cosy.
