The first full week of Term 2 has been a busy one in Crew. The kiddos have been hard at work with all their important assessments, but of course we still made plenty of time for fun along the way too.
This week we had drumming with Teacher Yoga, which was an absolute hit as always and such a fun way to start the morning. The children loved practising rhythms and making music together. We also had an exciting FunFit Sports session with Coach Trevor, where the focus was on ball skills. There was lots of throwing, catching, balancing and movement, and the children had the best time.
Our theme this week was Wild Animals and Birds of Prey, which inspired some truly spectacular art pieces for our upcoming Art Expo. The creativity and effort that has gone into these artworks has been amazing to watch, and the children are so proud of what they are creating.
The assessments we covered this week included all the things the children enjoy most, like counting, repeating sounds, and playing fun listening games such as Simon Says and Musical Statues. We tried to keep everything feeling relaxed and playful so the children could feel comfortable and confident while showing us what they know.
While some assessments were taking place, the rest of the Crew spent time practicing their puzzle building, which has been wonderful for problem solving, concentration and teamwork.
Every single day our Crew are becoming more confident within themselves, and it really is such a beautiful thing to see. Watching them grow in confidence, independence and willingness to try new things makes us incredibly proud.
Have a lovely weekend!
