Wow what a busy first week of school we have had! It has been truly amazing getting to know our new Happy Hoppers class. On the first day of school, it was filled with a lot of excitement, anxiety, and a few tears but it was mostly an incredibly happy and enjoyable day.

We spent our week getting to know each other and learning all about our amazing school, teachers, and friends. We have a great bunch of Happy Hoppers, and we are looking forward to learning, growing, and having fun with them.

This week’s art activity was based on our colour of the week being red and our letter of the week being Aa for apple. We started off with some sponge painting, and painted a paper plate red. Our plates represented our shape of the week, a circle, and we then made a handprint for our apple to make a leaf. On Wednesday we went on a very exciting nature walk to collect sticks for our stalk of the apple. The Hoppers loved this activity and they all had so much fun.

This has been such a wonderful first week of school learning, dancing, and playing.

Please remember to LABEL all belongings.

Have a wonderful and happy weekend!

Travel and Holidays

The Happy Hoppers used their imagination to go in a Holiday with an aeroplane. We re-enacted how to book our tickets, pack our bags, drive to the airport, and check in with our tickets. Lastly, we had a fun fly around with our arms stretched out wide! It truly was so much fun watching the children emerge themselves into the activity.

Cooking and Food

This week was all about cooking and boy did we have fun! For our first activity we focused on our fine motor skills by threading fresh fruit onto skewers. Our fruit kebabs were enjoyed by all the Happy Hoppers. Next, we had our taste buds dancing by creating our very own Calzones. We used wraps as the base, and the kids could choose their own toppings to put on. There was only one word for them: Yum!
