We started the week off with ring time where we discussed the theme, colour, sound, shape, and number of the week, followed by the moral conscious theme. We then discussed weekend news and sang a few songs.

Writing and Phonics: This week the Squad worked hard on remembering and reading their first sight word “look”. We are very impressed by how the Squad have remembered this word, please keep practicing sight words at home too. We also practiced letter formations “a”,” b”, and “c” in our workbooks, well tried Squad!

Mathematics: This week we traced the numbers “1-4” in our workbook followed by writing the numbers independently using the correct number formation.

Cooking: For our cooking class this week, the Squad formed their own “bodies” using cookie dough as well as adding in their choc chip eyes and mouth. Hmmmm…. these looked delicious when they came out of the oven, great work little bakers!

Creative Art: The Squad enjoyed making their own “nature bodies” for art. They took a nature walk and found natural resources such as sticks leaves, acorns, and rocks. They then formed their own bodies using these materials adding in as much detail as possible. The Squad thoroughly enjoyed this – their art came out uniquely beautiful!

The Squad have really impressed us so far, it is going to be an awesome year getting to know each other.

Thank you and have a great weekend. See you all on Monday.

Risk Takers – We explained to the Squad that being a risk taker is like being a brave adventurer! It means trying new things, even if they might not work out. When you take risks, you learn and grow, and sometimes you discover amazing things about yourself and the world around you. Imagine if you never tried riding a bike or swimming because you were afraid of falling or getting wet? You would miss out on so much fun! Taking risks helps you build confidence, make new friends, and find new passions. It’s okay to make mistakes – that’s how we learn! So, don’t be afraid to take a chance, try something new, and see where it takes you. You might just discover something amazing!
