LETTER

Li  – Lizard

We had an absolutely amazing week diving into the world of reptiles. Our little Smart Squad explorers were so excited as we learned all about snakes, lizards, and turtles. The highlight of the week was when Skylar brough in her baby bearded dragon for us to see. Her name is Zoey, the kids found that so funny as we have a Zoey in our class. This visit was such a treat. Skylar’s baby bearded dragon absolutely enthralled the kids; they couldn’t stop asking questions, their eyes wide with curiosity like, what does she eat, where does she sleep, how big will she get. And they even got to hold her. One or two of them said, “No, thank you,” as they were a bit scared, but overall, most of the Smart Squad learners just loved her so much they didn’t want her to leave. She’s really, really a cute baby bearded dragon.

For art this week, our Smart Squad children worked on a really exciting project. they drew a picture of a reptile on a polystyrene board, and then they traced the image with a pen to create an indented design. After that, they painted over it, turning it into a stencil that they could use to make prints. They used reptile pictures for inspiration, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was fantastic for their fine motor skills and sparked so much imagination as they wondered what their prints would look like in the end.

Of course, while we were having all this fun, we were also super busy practicing for our concert just three weeks to go. Even though we’ve had a packed schedule, our class is shining with enthusiasm and teamwork.

Please remember to help your little one revise their personal word parts for the concert every bit of practice helps. It’s been a busy but wonderful week, and we can’t wait to share all our hard work with you soon.

Please remember to send all hats back to school as the winter sun does get hot when the kiddos go outside.

Our yoga morning was spent listening to a visualization story about a playful dolphin.

our yoga song for the week: We are Yoga

new poses for the week: dolphin, owl, and whale

finishing off with relaxation whilst listening to the sound of singing bowls (chimes)

FunFit sports was so much fun this week with coach Trevor they played dodge the ball. They absolutely had all the fun in the world.

Have a wonderful weekend.
