Hello Moms and Dads!

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! This week’s theme we learnt all about Frogs and Ponds, Rivers and Dams. We started off this interesting topic discussing what frogs are, where they live, what they eat, where they are found. We also got into speaking about the uses of ponds, rivers and dams.  

This has been a busy week for our Hoppers.  

We painted little froggies for our art expo. Our hoppers did a tear and paste activity where they tore small pieces of green paper and stuck it onto the frog.  

For fun fine motor activity the children had to feed the ‘frog’ who was stuck to a box. They had to use tongs to feed the insects through the hole. This was a very good exercise to test their fine motor skills. 

Coach Trevor came to do FunFit sports with us, where we practiced balancing on thick and thin objects and got to practice monkey bar skills. 

We had a very wet rainy day on Wednesday so we had to keep entertained indoors.  

The rain did not put a damper on the day, as we built some puzzles, danced to action songs and enjoyed building blocks.  

On Thursday we played leap frog, where the children had to hop on all the lily pads and act like frogs. We got to do some tracing and free drawing.  

We closed our week with an exciting trip down to the pond where we got to explore pond life, tadpoles and the beautiful scenery!
