Moral conscious theme: Concept of an apology & Love Tanks – We explained to the Squad that it is important to apologise even when we didn’t purposely hurt someone else. We must try and understand how another person feels and ask ourselves would we want an apology had something similar happen to us. Everyone makes mistakes however we need to take accountability for our actions as there are consequences. We also explained to the Squad that we each have a love tank, when we compliment someone will fill their tank and when we are mean or nasty we empty their tanks – we asked them to think of one act of kindness that they could do this week to fill someone’s tank.

Writing and Phonics:  The  Squad worked hard on remembering and reading their new sights words “Look” “at” “me” “in”. We also practiced letter formations “g”,” h”, and “I” and “j” “k” and “l” in our workbooks, followed by independently writing your own name, well tried Squad! We have been focusing on letter sounds and names because this is important for the beginning stages of reading.

Mathematics: This week we did a fun worksheet where the Squad had match the object with the corresponding 3D shape,, they grasped this concept well and we are so proud! We also practiced counting to 30 and backwards from 30. We have also been singing our shape song – ask them all about it at home. Addition is a tricky concept to grasp, however we are pleased that the Squad have been working on this and they are able to add to 10 with ease.

Cooking: For our cooking class, the Squad made their parents snacks for the Parent Information Meeting. They sliced up gherkins, tomato’s and cheese on skewers. Yum! We went over kitchen rules relating to our theme Health and Hygiene such as always washing hands before working with food, checking expiry dates on items, not eating raw chicken or pork, keeping food it the fridge, and always keeping the kitchen space clean. We also made Valentine’s Day cookies! They are delicious!

Creative Art: The Squad enjoyed making “germ monsters” for their art activity. They used different materials and textures. They then stuck googly eyes, hehe these made us all giggle! We created such a special Valentines Day art piece for the Squad to take home this week and we hope that you love it just as much as we do.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Encouraging healthy habits and hygienic routines at this age sets the foundation for a lifetime of well-being. The children are beginning to understand why we do the things we do—like washing our hands and faces to keep those nasty germs away! Healthy living becomes even more exciting when The Crew hear that good habits help their muscles grow. I could definitely feel how strong they were after finishing all their food! (Wink wink.) Plus, picking up toys was another great way to build those muscles!

To bring this theme to life, we did a few fun and practical activities. One of our favorites was using a spray bottle to show how far germs can spread when we don’t cover our mouths while sneezing. Of course, once The Crew saw the spray in action, they all wanted to be sprayed! (LOL.)

For Music and Movement, we learned a catchy Hand Washing Song while practicing the proper way to wash our hands—rubbing them together, cleaning between the fingers, scrubbing the tops, pressing our palms, and not forgetting the wrists!

We also did a fascinating germ experiment using milk and pepper. After sprinkling pepper into a bowl of milk, we dipped a cotton swab in soap and touched the surface. The Crew were amazed as they watched the pepper instantly move away!

This week, we also had our first adventure with paint! I introduced color mixing by giving each child a dot of either blue or yellow paint. They then paired up with a friend to mix the colors together using their hands, discovering that blue and yellow make green! They absolutely loved getting a little messy with this activity.

In FunFit Sports, we focused on throwing skills. Each child had a turn trying to throw as many balls as possible into an 80cm bucket—fantastic for hand-eye coordination and learning to adjust their aim!

For art, we had a blast making glittery germ blobs with googly eyes and pom-poms. We also completed a fun germ-themed coloring sheet and an activity where the children traced their hands and drew all the germs they imagined living on them.

Helpful Tips: Consequences

At this age, introducing consequences for actions helps children think before they act. Explaining natural consequences allows them to make better choices—for example, good behavior leads to rewards, while negative behavior has consequences like no TV time or missing out on a playdate.

In our classroom, we’ll be reinforcing this concept to help The Crew understand how their choices affect themselves and others. Let’s raise children who choose to make the right decisions!

Next week’s theme: Emotions, Valentines Day

We just LOVE this theme! At this age, the Crew are becoming more aware of their feelings and what makes them feel a certain way. But it’s still so important to help them manage these emotions and understand that others feel the same way too.

Each day during ring time, we explored a different feeling. The Crew made the matching facial expression and shared what makes them feel that way. Some of the answers were just amazing.

For our Valentine’s Day art, we got super creative. The Crew made little love bugs and a beautiful handprint bouquet. The sticks for the bouquets were collected on our nature walk, which was such a lovely way to connect art with the outdoors. And yes, you may have noticedthe Crew have been coming home extra sparkly this week. Glitter galore!

Our Music & Movement session was a blast—Disco on the Deck. With a bubble-blowing machine, awesome tunes, and the deck all decorated, the Crew had the best time. A huge shoutout to Teacher Gemma (or should I say DJ Gemma) for making it so much fun. The kids looked fabulous in their little outfits. This is such a joyful time of year.

When learning about this week’s shape, number, and letter, we mixed practical learning with fun. The Crew did water painting on the outdoor steps and completed some worksheets. Hands-on learning makes everything more exciting.

Another highlight was our Letter Hunt. I hid hearts with different letters around the playground, and the Crew had to find them and match them to the alphabet display. They loved it. You can try this at home too—just remember to use lowercase letters in the correct formation.

During ring time, we also talked about bucket filling and bucket dipping. This helps the Crew understand how their actions affect others. We used real classroom moments as examples. When we share and show kindness, we fill buckets. But when we don’t share or hurt others, we dip into buckets. I told them how their big smiles and hugs fill my bucket every morning. So, let’s all be Bucket Fillers.

This week, we also met our Worry Monster. Whenever the Crew have a worry, they can draw it on a piece of paper and feed it to the Worry Monster, and he gobbles it up so they don’t have to carry it around all day.

In FunFit Sport, Coach Trevor had the Crew climbing and balancing on the jungle gym to build their gross motor skills. They absolutely loved it.

For yoga this week it was centered around hip mobility. These exercises and poses help improve flexibility, range of motion and stability in the hips.

Our songs for the morning:

⚓ You can’t do nothing sitting on the floor.

⚓ Breath by breath.

Ending off with quiet time.

And let’s not forget cooking. This week’s treat was extra special because the Crew made the parent evening snack for you. They were so proud knowing their parents would enjoy something they made with their own hands.

Next week’s theme: Healthy eating, etiquette, and manners

Have a wonderful weekend!

Here’s what happened in our Happy Hopper class last week.

We learnt all about health and hygiene. How to take a bath and the importance of brushing our teeth and our hair. We also spoke about toilet hygiene. We sang a song called this is the way we brush our teeth etc.

For our art piece, we concentrated on our fine motor colouring in skills. We coloured in a picture of a person with an open mouth and we used beans to stick in the mouth for teeth. We concentrated on reminding the Hoppers to remember to brush their teeth twice a day. We won’t be sending this art piece out as we will be keeping it for our art show.

We did two germ experiments to demonstrate how quickly germs can spread and what we can use to stop spreading germs.

Our first experiment was a science experiment where we had a plate of water and pepper floating in the plate. We explained to the children that the pepper is like germs. As we added soap to our fingers and put our finger in the water the pepper moved to the side of the plate, showing how soap kills germs. Our second experiment was with glitter. We put some glitter on our hands and pretended that the glitter was the germs. As we touched our legs, hands, or faces the glitter would spread. We explained to the children that this is how easily germs can spread, and we need to wash our hands with soap.

Cooking this week we concentrated on the skill of mixing we

Our Hoppers learnt about the letter C this week and we sounded out the letter and then we looked around the class to see if we could see if we could see objects that start with the letter H.

Happy Hoppers Yoga: Happy Hoppers yoga morning 🐞 Today, we did animal yoga. Using our magic yoga bag, we picked out little animals and discussed some interesting facts about each  of them while doing the relevant yoga poses.

We incorporated our breathing techniques into our animal poses.

Finishing off with relaxation and quiet time.

Of course the Lion Pose was the favorite of the day

For FunFit Sports this week the Hoppers showed off their aiming skills they had to throw coloured balls at a target board and see how many balls they could throw through the holes in the board.

What a wonderful week we had!

PLEASE check your little one’s nails. Keep them short and neat.

This week we spread the love with our theme of “My emotions,” especially with-it being Valentine’s Day on Friday.

Our Hoppers had a fun week speaking about love and why we love our mommy’s, daddy’s, our families, and friends and even our pets. We also spoke about our feelings and the different emotions we may feel from time to time.

We had so much fun making our special valentines hot air ballon. We painted a paper cup brown added two ice cream sticks for ropes and for the ballon we collaged it pink for girls and blue for boys with tissue paper we then cut out some heart to place over the collaged part of the balloon we also added a photo of each Hopper inside the cup.

The Hoppers loved baking heart shaped biscuits for Valentines day. They also got to ice it and put some sprinkles on the top of their biscuits and place them in packets as a special Valentines day treat.

On Friday we celebrated Valentine’s Day with Valentine’s disco. Our Hoppers had so much fun dancing and showing off their great dance moves.

Happy Hoppers Yoga Day on Friday was so much fun. Yay yay YOGA!

Today was all about hip mobility . These exercises and poses help improve flexibility, range of motion and stability in the hips.

Our songs for the morning:

🐰you can’t do nothing sitting on the floor

🐰 breath by breath

Ending off with quiet time.

Please remember not to send any toys to school from home.

Remember to label all belongings.

It has been a wonderful week filled with lots of love, laughs and happiness.

Next week our theme is Health Hygiene Manners and Etiquette.

  Enjoy your weekend

Theme: Health and Hygiene

“Brush, brush, brush your teeth, get them very clean. Brush them left brush them right, plaque is very mean!

Wash, wash, wash your hands, get them very clean. Do the scrub, do the scrub, germs are very mean!”

What a fun and interactive week we have had! Learning about hygiene is quite a big thing for these little people, what with fingers in noses and mouths, coughing without covering the mouth and touching everything and everyone possible! Hehe!

We reinforced washing hands after playing outside and before meals, how to wash them properly and make sure all the germs are gone.

We discussed the different ways we clean our bodies, in the bath or shower, some people use bars of soap while others use liquid soap. Washing our hair and all over our body!

The best part of this week were our 3 practical activities to teach health and hygiene.

Our first one was “how germs spread”. Teacher Gemma used green glitter on her hands, and made a big (and fake) sneeze, but forgot to cover her mouth! This made all of her “germs” fly everywhere! We then spoke about how we need to cover our mouths and noses when we sneeze or cough, otherwise our germs will fly away. We also learned that germs stick to our hands, and get passed on to everything that we touch, and the only way to get rid of them, is to wash our hands.

Our second practical activity was where the Bugs got make our laminated teeth “dirty” by drawing on them with a whiteboard marker, and then using a toothbrush to “clean” them while singing our teeth song.

Our last practical activity was the Bugs getting to brush their teeth after lunch at school. We were so impressed to see how well our Bugs know how to brush and rinse, making sure to get every inch of their mouths minty-fresh!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

See you all next week!

Next Week’s Theme: Valentines Day and Emotions

Theme: Valentines Day and My Emotions

Love is in the air!

This is always a very exciting theme and it’s always very well received. All of the children from the smallest Pups all the way up to our Smart Squad have so much fun with this theme and the teachers love all the enthusiasm!

Our week was spent full of fun activities and discussions. It is amazing how much these young children know about their emotions. They are such sensitive, intuitive and “connected” little humans! We discussed an array of emotions from Anger to Happiness. We had loads of fun practicing the facial expressions that go with these various emotions and had a good giggle at some of their “sad” and “angry” faces – which are too cute when they are “putting it on” … We also used all of the emoji faces (that are so familiar to children these days) and played all sorts of awesome matching games – we would put them on the carpet and then ask the children to find the “loving face” or the “bored face” etc… They were really very good at this!

The excitement this week was real, especially on Friday, when we had our annual Valentines Boogey on the deck! It was so beautiful to see how the children really embraced this. We had so much fun and the children really made us proud with their awesome dance moves. We have some natural Casanovas and some incredible dancers in this class!

Thank you for all of the sweet spoils we got! Our highlights were definitely watching how the children love each other, giving sweet little gifts and plenty of love and hugs!  I read somewhere this week, “If you want to really feel loved, work at a preschool on Valentine’s Day” – and this was so true.

For art this week, we concentrated on making a special Valentine’s Day card for mommy and daddy. We used heart shaped cookie cutters and red, pink and white paint to stamp hearts all over our page, coloured in the cutest little bee pictures, and added it all together.

As a Valentines gift, we made beautiful Valentine’s photo frames by taking old CD cases and modge-podging torn up red, white and pink paper on the back (which we used our “pinchy fingers to tear) and posing for the cutest photo to stick inside.

Our moral conscience theme this week was “Love Tanks” – rather an obscure concept for our little people to understand all about keeping your love tank full to share with other people, by being kind and loving to yourself. We explained that giving love makes that person have extra love to give, it’s always a good idea to hug, give kisses and cuddles, and make people feel valued and cared for. They most certainly understood this!

Just a few more points to remember:

  • Please remember to cut nails on a weekly basis.
  • Please do not send toys from home with your child to school. We know how tempting it is when you can avoid a fight or tears by letting them bring their favourite toy to school, but they cause problems in class when other children want to play with these new toys and we have to take them away. We love encouraging children to share but when it is their toy and they have a strong sense of ownership over it, we can’t really expect them to share it, and then if it breaks, we really don’t want to have that situation happening. As from after mid-term break next week, we will no longer be allowing teddies/toys inside the classroom. If your Bugs requires one for sleeping time, they will be kept in their bags until then.
  • Please send children to school in suitable footwear for sport on Funfit Sport days- Tuesday. Please also put shorts on under any dresses – important!
  • Please label everything folks! Even just initials on the bottom of shoes and inside hoodies and tracksuit tops. We have had a few items mysteriously vanish and we can’t do anything if it’s not labelled!
  • Please remember “no juice allowed”. This encourages sharing of bottles and therefore, germs. We try our best to keep our kiddies germ free and this is very difficult if there is yummy juice that everyone wants to taste. Also, NO SWEETS in lunch-boxes.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all things CHOCOLATE, we decided to check who has been reading the blog with a secret question. Please post just your answer on the WhatsApp group with no other explanation, so we know that you read our blog! Haha!

This week, the question is: Are you a Ferrero Rocher kind of person, or are you on Team Lindor Ball? Teacher Gemma is Team Lindor ball, and Teacher Thandi and Teacher Michelle are firmly on the Ferrero Rocher side of the fence, but at the end of the day…. CHOCOLATE IS CHOCOLATE!

Last week, we explored the theme of health and hygiene 🪥✨

We discussed the importance of washing our hands and practiced proper handwashing techniques throughout the week. The Pups were eager to follow along, and they did such a fantastic job!

For art, we used a tea bag to demonstrate what dirty teeth look like, while painting the other tooth to show how clean teeth should appear. The Pups were absolutely fascinated by using the wet tea bag to paint—it was the cutest thing!

During FunFit Sports, we had an exciting time with a bat and ball. The Pups practiced balancing the ball on a stand before hitting it off. Some of them were having so much fun, they didn’t want to stop! It was also wonderful to see them finally warming up to Coach Trevor—his happiness was truly contagious!

For fine motor activities, the Pups worked on placing small objects onto a standing surface. I was so impressed with their coordination and problem-solving skills—their little hands and minds knew exactly what to do!

Playful Pups Yoga 🐶 was as magical as ever!

  • After our warm-up and welcome, we shook off our sillies with a yoga song called Silly to Calm.
  • Using our Magic Yoga Bag, the Pups picked out animals and mimicked the matching yoga poses.
  • We incorporated breathing techniques into our animal movements, helping them stay focused and engaged.
  • We ended with some much-needed relaxation and quiet time.
Of course, the Lion Pose was the highlight of the day! 🦁

We also had a blast with music activities, where the Pups practiced following instructions—holding instruments above their heads, tapping them on the floor, and playing at different speeds: fast fast fast and sloooow sloooow sloooow! Watching their excitement and focus was absolutely heartwarming.

This week was filled with learning, laughter, and so many proud moments! 💛

Week 2

This Week Was All About LOVE! ❤️

This week, we filled our days with love and warm, snuggly feelings! We talked about the special people in our lives—Mom, Dad, and all our wonderful families. And, of course, we practiced giving our friends sweet little hugs… and oh my goodness, it was the cutest thing ever!

Lovely Little Creations 🎨
For art, we made the most adorable cards for Mom and Dad! Using a heart stencil and red and pink paint, our little artists carefully dipped their tiny hands into the paint, brushed it onto the stencil, and created something truly special. They did such an amazing job!

We also made beautiful flowers for our parents using our hands! It got a little extra messy (painty fingers everywhere!), but the giggles and joy made it totally worth it!

Songs Full of Love 🎶
We sang “I Love You, You Love Me,” and as soon as we started, our Pups’ faces lit up with the biggest smiles! It was such a heartwarming moment!

FunFit Fun with Coach Trevor! 🏃‍♂️
FunFit Sports keeps getting more exciting! This week, we focused on building our strength and confidence by climbing up and down the jungle gym and zooming down the slides. Some of our brave little Pups even wanted to try the monkey bars! Watching them step out of their comfort zones and explore new things made my heart so proud!

Yay for Yoga! 🧘‍♀️
Today was all about hip mobility—helping our little bodies get more flexible, strong, and steady! Our morning songs were:
🌈 You Can’t Do Nothing Sitting on the Floor
🌈 Breath by Breath
And, of course, we ended with a peaceful and cozy quiet time.

I am so, so proud of each and every Pup! Watching them grow, learn, and shine makes my heart so full! 💕

Moral conscious theme: Love Tanks – This week we spoke to the Squad about how important it is to use love words and not sandpaper words. We discussed how we are able to FILL our friends’ tanks instead of empty them because when we empty them, we are very sad. We also played a game where the Squad complimented each other.

Writing and Phonics: We went over our “J, K, L” letters (capital and lower-case) this included the Squad writing the letters with white board markers first and then writing the letters in their books. We encourage you to continue to practice writing using this method at home.

Mathematics: We went over our 3D shapes song on Thursday and then went through each of the shapes in detail. The squad had a worksheet to complete by matching the pictures and then we practiced counting in 10s. Keep it up!

Creative Art: This was a fun-filled week with both Valentines Day art and Emotions art. The children created their very own emotions CD by drawing and decorating with glitter. They were very creative with this and had so much fun! For Valentines Day – they created their own card “I love you to pieces” – very sweet!

FunFit Sports: Coach Trevor and the Squad practiced for our annual Sports Day. We are getting very excited for this, and we cannot wait to show you what the Squad can do!

Music: We have been working on our melody and keeping with the beat (a four beat). We are very proud of how courageous the Squad are to stand up and sing impromptu songs.

Cooking: This week we created our very own pink cookies which were sent home. They were drizzled with chocolate and were scrumptious! Thank you, Squad!

It has been a great week!

We just LOVE this theme! Lol, well isn’t that ironic! At this age the Crew are more aware of the feelings that they have and what makes them feel certain ways. But it is still very important to help them manage these feelings and to help them understand that others have the same feeling as they do.

We had a few things going on in the Curious Crew class this week. We welcomed a new friend into the Curious Crew class, we had so many fun activities… where to start!

For our Valentine’s Day art piece we decided to make little love bugs. I’m sure you have noticed, almost each day the Crew have left school covered in glitter …  Our love bugs are just the cutest!

For our Valentine’s Day gift, what better than to make something cool… heart shaped soap! Taking the Crew in small groups, we melted down plain soap in the microwave. But you can’t make soap without making it smell nice. First letting the Crew have a smell and guess what fragrance they are smelling, most of them smelt lemon which was really close. We added the essential oil Tangerine. So once our soap was scented and melted down, the heart shape moulds were filled, everyone had a chance to decorate their soap with some glitter and it was just the best! Each Crew member couldn’t be more proud of the little soap they were a part of making.

Music and Movement this week is no surprise… DISCO ON THE DECK. What fun everyone had with our beautifully decorated deck, bubble blowing machine and awesome music (thank you Teacher Gemma or should I say DJ Gemma) LOL. All the children looked fabulous in their little oufits, what a wonderful time of the year filled with so much love and excitement.

When practicing this week’s shape, number and letter of the week, the Crew did some water painting on our outside steps. It’s important when teaching, to be practical and fun. Think out the box and remember Pinterest can be your best friend.

Another fun little activity the Crew did was a letter hunt. Teacher Tegan made hearts with all the letters of the alphabet on it. The Crew went around our outside playground to find all the letters and came back to match them with the alphabet letters displayed. Same same, matchy matchy LOL! This was a wonderful game to play and it might be fun for you to play at home. Remember to write small letters not capitals and make sure they are in the correct letter formation.

Mind Ninja’s this week was focused on ‘Bucket Filling’ and ‘Bucket Dipping.’ This concept is to teach children about their actions and how it can make others feel. We went over a few examples of situations that happened in class. These moments are great tools to use to teach. A situation they have just experienced is one of the best ways to use as an example. Bucket fillers make us feel loved and joyful. Bucket dippers make us feel sad or frustrated. I used examples like when the Crew arrive in the morning and greeting them with a big hug and a big smile fills my bucket full of love. When someone doesn’t share or hurts one another these are the things that dip a bucket. So lets be Bucket Fillers!

For Yoga this week the songs for the week incorporated core strength and exercises. ‘If you love yoga and you know it’ they did tree, warrior, lion and tortoise. ‘Sitting on the floor’ is a song about fun movements to do whilst sitting on the floor. Finishing off with some quiet time. Boy do the Crew love these yoga songs!

Cooking this week was done today and we made Heart Shaped little pizza’s this was such a lovely practical activity and food is always enjoyed more when it’s made by the Crew themselves.

Have a great love filled weekend everyone!

This week we spread the love with our theme “My Emotions,” especially with-it being Valentine’s Day on Wednesday!

Our Hoppers had a fun week speaking about love and why we love our mommies, daddies, our families, and friends and even our pets. We also spoke about our feelings and the different emotions we may feel from time to time. We coloured in happy, sad, and angry faces, which we made mood charts, these came out amazing and we encourage you to please use them at home, hang them up somewhere and let your Hoppers show you how they are feeling, this is a fantastic way for children to express their feelings.

On Wednesday we celebrated Valentine’s Day with our Valentine’s Disco. Our Hoppers had so much fun dancing and showing off their great dance moves!

Happy Hoppers Yoga Day on Friday was so much fun.

Our songs for the week:

🐰If You Love Yoga And You Know It (If You Are Happy And You Know It)  and we did tree, warrior, lion, and tortoise poses.

🐰Sitting On The Floor – which is a song about fun movements to do whilst sitting on the floor.

We finished off with quiet time

Our Hoppers just LOVE our songs 🎵

For our Art, this week we made a beautiful card and a special present for Valentines Day, the Hoppers put a lot of love and hard work into this activity.

The excitement this week was real, especially on Wednesday, when we had our annual Valentines Boogey on the deck!

We made red handprints, added black spots all over to create the cutest little strawberries, because we love our parents “berry” much.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all things CHOCOLATE, we decided to check who has been reading the blog with a secret question. This week, the question is: Are you a Ferrero Rocher kind of person, or are you on Team Lindor Ball? Please post just your answer on the WhatsApp group with no other explanation, so we know that you read our blog! Haha! Teacher Gemma is Team Lindor ball, and Teacher Thandi and Teacher Michelle are firmly on the Ferrero Rocher side of the fence, but at the end of the day…. CHOCOLATE IS CHOCOLATE!

This is such a sweet theme. All the children give hugs all week and Wednesday was just so special – seeing them all in their pink, red and white outfits.

The Pups have been adorable this week, learning about the BIG emotions – HAPPY, SAD, EXCITED, ANGRY, SCARED. We spoke about each of these feelings and about situations when we would be likely to feel them. We sang “If you’re happy and you know it!” more times than we can say, making the faces as we went along. When we are sad in the song, we say “Oh no!” When we are angry, we stamp feet. When we are excited, we shout “HOORAYYYY!” We had a lot of fun making faces! These children are young but so perceptive – it is amazing to see how much they are learning.

For art this week we made you a beautiful Valentine’s Day card – we hope you love it! It was made with loads of love from your Pup to you. Then we made you some delicious cookies dipped in icing with sprinkles. This was a lot of fun and it kept the Pups and myself very busy. The kids made a paper plate heart with a bag full of washing soap on the inside and we also added some decorations for inside the bag, to make it all squishy and fun for the Pups to use!

Each week just gets more exciting, working with the Pups and seeing them try new things!

Have a stunning weekend, keep safe and see you next week!

This was a lot of fun and it kept the Pups and myself very busy. The kids made a heart that they collaged with different red pink and white bits and bobs. Please see the pictures.

For FunFit Sport this week, Coach Dave created a mini obstacle course for the Pups. With coach Dave’s watchful eye the children climbed up the jungle gym, crossed two bridges and then slid down the slides! Awesome job Pups!

Yoga Thursday this week the Pups did their warm up stretches and did an upper body and core strengthening activity. After that they did skateboard pulls. The benefits of this activity is to balance and control and to try noy fall off the skateboard. Working their core and back muscles by keeping their backs straight and their heads up, this has the same concept as tummy time. Well done Pups you did a great job!

Have a stunning weekend, keep safe and see you next week!

Writing and Phonics: Phonics this week focused on our next two sight words ‘a’ and “am”. The Squad made their very own “glasses” where they coloured in and cut out the word look. They then used these cool glasses to look for their sight words and circle them. The Squad then drew a picture of what they did on the weekend and coloured it in. Please continue to practice the following sight words:

a, am, look, at, me, in, here

Maths: Our mathematics lesson this week we introduced addition sums up to 10. They completed sums in their workbooks using concrete objects and practiced their number formation up to 10. Well done, Squad!

Life Skills: “Thinkers”- For our IB principle thinkers aids to assist the learners to solve problems, learn from mistakes and be thoughtful of others.

Art: The Squad had so much fun this week making Valentine’s Day gifts for their families. They received a strawberry card and decorated them. They then made juice box cookies holders, these turned out very cute and the squad were so chuffed by the outcome.

Afrikaans: For Afrikaans this week we did a fun shapes and colours worksheet, we called out the name of the colour for each shape in Afrikaans and the squad had to try and remember what the colour is in English and colour in their shapes.

Cooking & Music: This week’s cooking was so much fun; they made their own love heart cookies to put inside their valentines day art. They worked together to whisk the flour butter and castor sugar and off they went in the oven. For music this week we sang some songs as well as introduced tempo (the speed of music).

It has been a great week.

See you all next week.
