Over the last two weeks, our Crew has been exploring everything dinosaurs, and what an incredible journey it has been! 

We discovered the differences between herbivores and carnivores, learnt some fascinating dinosaur facts, and even found out why a raptor holds one of its claws raised off the ground. The children’s curiosity never ceases to amaze me, and the questions they asked throughout our discussions made our learning even more exciting. 

Of course, a huge part of the last two weeks has been our concert. We practised, practised… and then practised some more! All of the hard work, laughter and determination paid off, and our beautiful, very entertaining performance made us incredibly proud. Watching the children grow in confidence as they learnt their songs and dances has been such a special experience. 

Our little artists have also been very busy. We explored free painting, got wonderfully messy with our art, and experimented with mixing colours to create new shades. There is something so magical about giving children the freedom to create, explore and express themselves without worrying about the end result. 

FunFit Sport was just as exciting! We enjoyed playing cricket with Coach Trevor, where we continued developing our throwing, catching and striking skills while having plenty of fun. 

Our musical talents were also put to the test as we drummed our hearts out with Teacher Yoga and became tambourine superstars during our music lessons. There were lots of giggles, wonderful rhythms and plenty of enthusiastic performances! 

Over the past two weeks, we also focused on several of our IB Learner Profile attributes, particularly Risk Takers, Communicators and Thinkers. Whether it was trying something new, sharing our ideas with our friends, solving problems together or stepping outside of our comfort zones, our Crew embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. 

Our classroom was filled with imagination as the children worked together to build their own dinosaur zoos, carefully deciding where each dinosaur belonged and creating wonderful stories through their play. 

We also continued working through our dinosaur booklets, matched dinosaur fossils, completed tracing mazes and took part in a variety of activities that strengthened our pre handwriting skills. Every one of these activities helps develop pencil control, hand strength, visual perception and the confidence needed for future writing. 

Looking back over these two weeks, I couldn’t be prouder of our wonderful Crew. They continue to amaze us with their curiosity, creativity, kindness and willingness to give everything a go. 

Our Crew is growing and learning in leaps and bounds, and we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Watching them become more confident, independent little learners is truly the greatest privilege.
