It has been a great successful week in the Curious Crew class! The Crew are so comfortable in there new environment and are all enjoy coming to school with very few tears. We had a great learning week with our theme having so much to discuss regarding our bodies and learning about important body parts like our hearts , lungs , kidneys etc .

We did quite a few art activities this week. Teacher Clarissa really thought of a fun and exciting way to explain the components of blood using a plastic bottle and

  • Red Orbeez for blood
  • Red plastic for red blood cells
  • Polystyrene balls for white blood cells
  • Yellow food colouring in water for Plasma

This week we focused on tracing and practicing our name writing , as well as our cutting skills , this is something that will be a main focus throughout the week.

Helpful tips of the week: The most important rule in our class is to ‘Keep your hands to yourself’ (Our action for this, when telling the Crew, is giving themselves a hug). As much fun as it is to hang on to and hold our friends, most of the time it ends up in tears rather than smiles. If you as parents could please chat to your children at home about this rule and respecting their friends’ personal space, class time and playtime will run much smoother.

Next week’s theme: My senses

It has been amazing to see how much progress the Crew is making. They are now able to follow simple instructions and make their artwork their own, which fills our teacher hearts with so much pride! Their faces lit up with joy when we created our tinfoil and water Easter egg art in the art studio—what a magical experience! These moments are so special, and I’m sure you as parents are just as proud of their achievements.

My House

My House

During our ring time sessions this week, we explored various types of homes—not just for humans, but also the clever abodes that animals and insects create or find. We even went through each room in a house, giving the Crew a clue to guess the room, which tied in perfectly with our activity where they built their own little houses with different rooms. We chatted about a range of homes, from tree houses and apartments to huts, caravans, teepees, and igloos. The Crew impressed us with how much they already knew about the materials needed to build a house—such a clever Crew we have!

This is always one of our favourite themes! There’s something so special about seeing the Crew’s adorable drawings of their families and hearing the sweet stories that go along with them.
