This week has been such a great one! It has been so nice and warm and sunny! We started the week off by discussing our five senses and how we use each one differently. The children closed their eyes while Teacher Clarissa made little noises and they had to hear and guess what sounds she was making. The Crew also enjoyed sticking their hands in a pillowcase (although slightly nervously!) where they then chose a toy with their eyes closed and tried to feel and guess the object. So much fun!

We decided to take a different approach with the kiddies when discussing their senses and so introduced them to braille and sign language! The children stuck diamante onto dots which in braille resembles their name. They had so much fun running their fingers over the bumps and “feeling’’ their names. During snack and lunch, the kiddies were asked what their food tastes like? Salty or sweet?

During cooking we got to smell and taste all different types of foods. Some yucky, some yummy! They all enjoyed this!

We hope you have a great weekend!

Next week’s theme: Health & Hygiene

Helpful Tip for the Week!

Saying “please’’ and “thank you’’ to our teachers and friends is very important in the classroom. We believe in treating our friends with care – we love them and they are special to us. We don’t shout at our friends and our motto is: SHARING IS CARING!

Father’s Day and Sport

What an exciting week we’ve had in the Curious Crew class, especially leading up to the much-anticipated Bike-a-thon! The kids were counting down the days, asking daily if it was finally Bike-o-thon time. Today was no different, “When are we going to ride, teacher?” “Is it now?”—the questions didn’t stop! The big event finally took place after snack time during our break, and it was pure joy.

Land, Air and Sea Transport

During ring time each morning, we encouraged the Crew to include transport in their sentences when discussing different types of vehicles. Our goal was for them to grasp what “transport” really means—not just naming cars, trucks, planes, and boats, but understanding why we use them.

The Farm: Farm Animals

This week, we explored the fascinating world of farm animals! We learned about the animals themselves, the sounds they make, the names of their babies, and even which meats come from which animals. We also discussed the many products animals give us — from milk, cheese, and yogurt to wool, feathers, and eggs.
